In the box you will find a sturdy metal frame with a screw and a nut attached at the bottom and two plastic brackets
Remove the screw from the nut, and slide the clamp jaw off by depressing the lever and sliding towards the bottom.
Both brackets are the same, orientate the bracket so the hole is at the bottom and slide the shaft of the clamp into the shaft hole in the bracket. It is VERY snug, but will fit with some pressure,. Some tapping may be necessary. If that don’t work, cuss a bit, pray to the Holy Father for forgiveness then get the bracket on the shaft.
This picture is to call attention to the screw hole and the brackets orientation.
After you fit the bracket on the shelf slide it all the way to the fixed clamping jaw as shown
Depressing the silver lever slide on the moveable frame jaw all the way up snug with the bracket.
Put the second bracket on the frame shaft BUT only do so until the bracket hole and the shaft hole line up.
Put the screw through the hole and fix the nut to it. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN - Assembly is complete
TAKE A BREATHER, YOU JUST BUILT A SHELF GEESH! OK, so now you have it fully assembled, grab some paracord (I recommend about 16 feet) and head out to your nearest tree, because it is time to put his kit to use!
Ok, Lets not complicate this too much. The frame can be used either as shown or “upside down” from the shown orientation The grooves in the brackets easily hold paracord. Just make sure the tree table brackets are held firmly and securely, the stability of the shelf depends on that.
It is also possible to “speed lace” the cordage to secure it to the tree.. Any knot that holds it secure is going to work. Get creative and do your own thing.
Now you can put a sturdy cutting board in the jaws and tighten it down for a great shelf! You can even use a plank of wood, or a “round” cut from a tree as your shelf. Your imagination is the limit. The clamping strength of the jaws is 300LBS. Just be safe, use common sense and enjoy your outdoor tree shelf from Bombproof Bushcraft.
